Man arrested after person injured in early morning shooting | News

Update, 9:30 p.m.:

Around 2:40 p.m., officers from the Regional Gang Unit arrested a man in connection with the shooting.

Richard Blackmon, 31, was arrested and faces the following charges:

Battery with a deadly weapon, ex-felon with a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, disobeying a peace officer and endangering the public, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a substance controlled for the sale and trafficking of a controlled substance (cocaine).

The case is still ongoing.

Original story, June 22, 11:19 a.m.:

The Reno Police Department said officers responded to reports of a shooting at East 2nd Street and Arlington Avenue around 5:30 Saturday morning.

When police arrived on scene, they found no suspects or victims.

Upon investigation, they learned that a victim was being treated at a nearby hospital for two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

RPD says they are still investigating the shooting and there is no threat to the public.
