Man arrested after investigation leads to drug bust in Slidell

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested after an investigation led to a drug bust in the Slidell area.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reported that detectives searched a home in the 100 block of W. Chamale Cove on June 20 following an investigation by the narcotics division.


During the search, STPSO detectives said they discovered counterfeit pills containing fentanyl, marijuana, illegal THC products, Tapentadol, psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia “indicative of drug distribution” and a handgun.

According to the STPSO, “there were two toddlers in the residence when detectives arrived.”

STPSO deputies then arrested Isaiah Malik Torregano as part of the investigation.

Torregano faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of distribution of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana/THC)
  • Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
  • Distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (Tapentadol)
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute (marijuana)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute (Psilocybin Mushrooms)
  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Tapentadol)
  • Illegal carrying of weapons
  • Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under the age of 17
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

STPSO officials said detectives also contacted the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.
