Man arrested after allegedly throwing knife at victim

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Wichita Falls Police Department arrested a man on Saturday for Aggravated Assault: Domestic Violence Using a Weapon, as well as another charge.

Donald Barker, 61, has been charged with attacking a woman with a knife. Police responded to the 1400 block of N Seventh Street around 11:45 p.m. on June 1 to investigate the incident.

When officers arrived, they found the female victim who said she had been hiding in Barker's bathroom when he became violent that night. Barker allegedly entered the bathroom with a large kitchen knife and stabbed it at the victim's neck, at one point forcefully holding the weapon to his throat.

Barker told the woman: “B**** you die tonight” and held her by the back of her neck during the incident. The victim told police she was feeling pain and feared for her life.

The victim had a gash on his neck. She requested an emergency protection order against Barker following the incident.

After arresting Barker for aggravated assault, police found a plastic bag in his right front pants pocket containing 0.211 ounces of marijuana. For this, he was also charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. He remains incarcerated in the Wichita County Jail on a combined bond of $50,500 for both charges.
