Man arrested after allegedly posting threatening messages on Facebook

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is charged with committing an act of terrorism after police say he posted threatening messages on social media that made Memphians fear for their safety.

On June 21, a message was posted on Facebook by a man named “Huncho Cinco” saying he was going to “pull a Zeek” (referring to a shooting that took place in 2022) and “put this to rest.” place “. on everything and everyone is moving.”

The man who made the threats was later identified as 24-year-old Derrick White.

After the post was made, White posted a Facebook post stating his first stop was Smokey City and attached a photo of an unknown suspect dressed in black with a black handgun loaded with an extended magazine.

White's posts were shared on multiple social media platforms, leading Memphians to call and visit the Memphis Police Department to inform officers of these posts and their fears for their safety.

Based on White's social media posts on Facebook and the current arrest warrant for violent crime, the police report states that the MPD Organized Crime Unit mobilized to apprehend him.
