Farmington Hills police are investigating an apparent homicide that occurred Saturday, when a 28-year-old man was fatally shot, allegedly by his 30-year-old brother.

The suspected shooter, who reportedly fled the scene, was arrested Sunday with the help of Warren police, officials said.

According to Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King, the shooting happened at a home in the 33000 block of Saratoga Circle, near 11 Mile and Halsted roads. The victim's mother and suspected shooter called police around 3:30 p.m. to report that her sons were involved in an argument that led to the older son shooting the younger one, King said.

Officers who responded to the scene found the injured man in critical condition, King said, and helped a crew from the Farmington Hills Fire Department transport him to an area hospital where he died of injuries. consequences of his injuries.

The Oakland County medical examiner confirmed the death was a homicide, based on the results of an autopsy performed Sunday.

The suspect was arrested around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the area of ​​11 Mile and Groesbeck roads, King said.
