Man appears in court after man and woman allegedly stabbed in Canberra home invasion

An 18-year-old man has appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court after allegedly taking part in a violent home invasion in Canberra earlier this month, during which two residents were stabbed multiple times.

Police will say Lytrell Eneliko broke into a home in Conder around 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 after a woman opened the door.

They claim Mr Eneliko stabbed her several times before he and three other unidentified men attacked the male occupant, who was also stabbed.

It appears that the group then fled the scene.

Both victims were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Inquiries into the identities of the other men involved in the incident are continuing, ACT Police said.

Mr Eneliko was arrested in western Sydney yesterday and was extradited today to appear in the ACT Court.

He faces charges of aggravated burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon with intent.

During a brief appearance in court today, Mr. Eneliko did notHe did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.

He did not speak and made no plea.

However, he smiled and greeted a woman in the courtroom.

The case will return to court next month.
