Man and woman charged with drug trafficking in Fort Fairfield, Maine

A 37-year-old Caswell man and a 31-year-old Fort Fairfield woman were arrested early Sunday morning on aggravated drug charges after a traffic stop on White Hill Street in Fort Fairfield.

Shawn Dufour and Macenzie Charette were arrested around 12:10 a.m.

Police say driver showed 'signs of impairment'

The Fort Fairfield Police Department said Dufour was driving the vehicle when he was stopped and “he visibly displayed signs of impairment.”

Man accused of operating under the influence of drugs

Dufour was accused of operating under the influence of drugs.

Fentanyl, methamphetamine and money seized

Officers searched the vehicle and seized nearly 13.61 grams of Fentanyl, 2.8 grams of Meth and cash from drug sales, WAGM News reported.

Man faces OUI and drug charges

Dufour was charged with OUI, aggravated drug trafficking and illegal drug possession.

The woman had an outstanding warrant

Charette faces charges of aggravated drug trafficking and illegal drug possession. She was also arrested on an unrelated warrant and placed on probation by the Department of Corrections.

Transported to prison

Dufour and Charette were taken to the Aroostook County Jail.
