Man and woman arrested in Elko and face drug and weapons charges | News

A man and woman were arrested in Elko and are both facing drug and weapons charges.

Elko police said the arrests were made after conducting surveillance of a home on Dotta Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the greater Elko area.

Authorities say the Elko Combined Narcotics Unit (ECNU) saw a man leave the home and conduct what appeared to be a drug deal in a nearby parking lot.

Police said a traffic stop was then conducted, during which the driver of the car, Daniel Wiebe, 48, of Elko, was taken into custody while ENCU detectives served a search warrant and searched the house.

The search took place on Monday June 3.

During the search, they say they found 11 guns, more than $2,000 in cash, more than 50 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, more than 300 grams of cocaine, more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, more than 20 grams of MDMA pills and more than 30 grams of ketamine as well as evidence and signs of narcotics sales.

While ECNU was conducting its search, Wiebe's fiancee, Heather Monger, 48, returned home and was also taken into custody after reporting finding a gun with her.

Both Weibe and Monger were arrested and face numerous weapons and drug charges.

Weibe's bond is estimated at $1,610,000.

Monger's bond is estimated at $510,000.
