Burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Police arrested a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man after they were found in an abandoned house.

A concerned neighbor called police after she suspected people were in the house, according to a police report. When the reporting officer arrived, he noticed a significant amount of trash and debris around the home. The officer noted in the report that he had spoken to the owner of the home several times and that she had expressed a clear desire to ensure the home remained empty, including filing charges against anyone found in the interior.

The officer heard the two individuals moving around inside and spotted the two men exiting through a broken window. He ordered them to stop and were held at gunpoint until other officers arrived on the scene, according to the report.

The two men told police that a woman who worked at a nearby bar gave them permission to stay in the house and that they were asked to simply clean and repair the house. The man then told police his brother had caused damage to the property and he just wanted to repair it.

The two suspects were incarcerated.

Disordered intoxication. A 48-year-old Daytona Beach man was arrested after police say he tried to start a fight with staff and customers at a restaurant.

Police went to the restaurant after receiving a call about a disturbance, according to the man's arrest report. Restaurant employees had repeatedly asked the drunk man to leave before he tried to start a fight and had to be kicked out. The reporting officer noted that the man's intoxicated state was evident due to his slurred speech and “shining eyes.” When he was handcuffed, the man told the officer he would fight him.

While in the back of the officer's patrol car, the man said, “I'm going to make you call me an ambulance,” according to his arrest report. He also asked the officer if he wanted a “short report or a long report,” before banging his forehead against the car partition.

The police pepper-sprayed him and took him out to await medical treatment. He was then taken to prison.
