Man and woman arrested after attempted robbery near West Acres | The powerful 790 KFGO

FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) — Fargo police say a man was robbed at gunpoint by a woman he thought was his girlfriend online Friday evening.

The robbery happened in a hotel room in the 4300 block of 17th Avenue S in Fargo. According to reports, the victim came to Fargo to meet his online girlfriend who went by the name “Riy Alexander.”

The two men spent the afternoon shopping before going to the victim's hotel room, where an armed man attempted to force his way into the room. “Alexander” ran out of the room and did not return.

During an interview with the victim, officers received a phone number for “Alexander” registered to Sariah Jennings, an 18-year-old Minnesota resident.

On Tuesday, officers received a tip from West Acres Security that the individuals involved in the attempted robbery had returned to the store where they were shopping prior to the attempted robbery.

Officers responded and arrested Jennings and 19-year-old Fargo resident Jeremiah Norby.

Norby and Jennings were arrested for conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Norby was also arrested for hindering apprehension, conspiracy to manufacture or deliver marijuana and possession of cocaine.
