Man accused of using 4-wheeler to attack ex in police parking lot

A Delhi Municipal Corporation man is behind bars accused of a bizarre attack on his ex-wife using a four-wheeler and the location of the incident is even more unusual. “It was not a car accident. It was an intentional act that he drove his vehicle toward her,” said Lt. Jerrod Meyer of the Delhi Township Police. “Because of that, he was charged with felony assault for using that vehicle as a weapon.” Tyler Waddle, 33, is charged with felonious assault, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license. The incident was filmed by a security camera. The video shows the victim entering a parking lot, closely followed by a man police called Waddle, driving an SUV. The video shows the man in the SUV trying to interrupt the woman. He jumps out of his vehicle and begins banging on his car windows. “She tried to stop and he blocked her and that’s when he jumped,” Meyer said. The woman walks away, but the man jumps back into his vehicle. SUV and appears to drive it directly in front of the woman's vehicle. The other unusual factor is that it all took place in the Delhi Municipal Police parking lot. Police said the woman was at the gym and began receiving threatening text messages from Waddle. “The victim was returning home. She had received a text message from her ex, then she saw in the (doorbell) cameras that he was at her house. So she ran home. She was worried about a family member and they crossed paths on the road. Then he turned around and began to follow her. So, she went where she thought she would be safest, which was here at the police department,” Meyer said. After the accident, Waddle left. Waddle was eventually arrested by Cheviot police. Their police report says he was at his mother's house. When the police spotted him and ordered him to give up. Officers said he ignored them. “I put the Taser on him and radioed for other officers,” one officer wrote. “I deployed my Taser and it had no effect.” After a chase, the report said, Waddle fought with a Cheviot officer. “I delivered a knee strike to Waddle's oblique area and received no compliance,” the officer wrote. The officer said Waddle continued to struggle and tried to grab his handcuffs. Even after receiving two more knee strikes, Waddle continued to resist, according to the report. Another officer arrived and police were able to make the arrest. Hamilton County Chief Magistrate Anita Berding gave Waddle a $100,000 straight bond, meaning he will have to pay all of that to get out of jail.
