A 43-year-old Ohio man is wanted by local police in connection with a reported sexual assault of a young girl when she was 14 years old.

Ellwood City police charged Timothy Jason Carmichael of Geneva, Ohio, in connection with the offense that allegedly occurred multiple times between June 2020 and May 6 of this year at a residence on Loop Street in the borough of 'Ellwood City.

The teenager, now aged 17, and her grandmother contacted the police to report the matter. Police then filed a report with ChildLine, according to a criminal complaint.

Police interviewed Carmichael at the police station last month and he provided a statement. In addition to the reported offenses, he told police he would walk around the residence naked in the presence of the teen, according to the complaint.

He was released pending charges against him.

The teenager, during a forensic interview with the Children's Advocacy Center, allegedly described to his interlocutor that he had touched her several times and that he had threatened her and threatened to kill himself if she spoke about it to someone, according to the report.

Based on the interview, Carmichael faces four counts of aggravated indecent assault, five counts of indecent assault of a person under 16 and one count each of bribery of minors, illegal contact with a minor, criminal use of a means of communication and indecent assault. exposure.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty or tried in court.
