Man accused of fatally stabbing Bronx woman in 2005

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man is accused of stabbing a former lover to death in his Bronx apartment nearly 20 years ago, police said Thursday.

James Devore, 54, of Ohio, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in the Nov. 23, 2005, killing of Erica Robinson, 28, according to the New York Police Department.

Authorities said Devore and Robinson were in a relationship and got into an argument before Devore stabbed Robinson with a knife in the chest in his 1246 Grand Ave. apartment. around 7:15 a.m.

Officers found the woman unconscious with a stab wound to her chest, police said. She died on the spot.

It's unclear how the investigation led to Devore's arrest.
