Deciding where to go on a date can be very difficult, especially if you like the person.

When you've nailed the first date and are already on a second, you know that your future relationship status may depend on what you decide to do for that all-important next date. You might choose a restaurant, a wine bar, a fun activity, or a movie date, but when one guy suggested “sitting in the park,” his potential suitor wasn't too impressed.

“I met a guy on a dating app a few weeks ago, we met for drinks for our first date and it was nice. He's laid back, has a good sense of humour, a nice smile, good jobs. Both in their 40s,” she explained on Mumsnet.

After their first date, he contacted her to say he wanted to see her again and she described him as “caring.” However, his second date idea was, “Should we sit in the park?”

She admitted to being “disappointed” by his suggestion, asking: “What does that mean? What does that mean… I'm too old to hang out in the park! That's where I had my teenage dates,” she said.

The woman also said she was concerned about the weather, as “the forecast also says rain.” “This is not a picnic, or he would bring it up. I think it's a cheap suggestion, a bit odd for a professional, and something I could do with a friend or colleague (we sometimes have coffee in the park),” the woman complained.

She said that all of her “successful relationships” “started with a romantic meal,” so she was confused and wondered if she was being unreasonable to get upset. In the comments, some women accused the man of being “stuck up.” “I would just say no. I bet he’s stuck up and doesn’t want to have to pay for dinner,” one said.

Another added: “This made me laugh. For God's sake, couldn't he think of something better than that? He acts like he's in his early teens.”
