Man accused of attempted murder in Kingsport with stabbing | WJHL

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after stabbing another man Wednesday in Kingsport, according to police.

Officers responded to the stabbing at the Travel Inn, 805 Lynn Garden Drive, around 6:13 p.m.

According to the Kingsport Police Department (KPD), officers found a man with “severe lacerations consistent with a knife wound.”

The victim told officers he had been arguing with Paul McDowell over a woman when McDowell stabbed him in the back with a knife, according to KPD.

Officers found McDowell on Dahila Street and arrested him for attempted second-degree murder and evading arrest.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
