Man, 33, killed in crash near Mount Pleasant

ISABELLA COUNTY, MI – A 33-year-old man was killed and two others injured in a crash Saturday evening near Mount Pleasant.

Isabella County sheriff's deputies did not release the man's name, but said he resided in St. Louis in Gratiot County. Deputies said the other two injured in the crash are expected to survive their injuries.

The crash was reported around 9 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the intersection of Winn and Coe roads in Fremont Township, about 10 miles southwest of Mount Pleasant, County Sheriff's deputies said. 'Isabella.

Deputies believe the St. Louis man was heading west on Coe Road in a Chevrolet Blazer when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Winn Road.

His Blazer struck a Lincoln Navigator that was heading north on Winn Road, pushing it off the roadway and into a field, deputies said.

The driver and passenger of the Navigator, a 50-year-old man and 57-year-old woman from Rodney, Mecosta County, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries they were expected to survive, police said. deputies.

The St. Louis man was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

Deputies said speed and failure to stop at the stop sign were factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
