Man, 23, arrested for murder of younger brother at Fort Worth apartment complex

A 23-year-old faces a murder charge in the May killing of his younger brother at a Fort Worth apartment complex.

Keon Sanders was arrested Thursday and booked into the Tarrant County Jail, records show.

In addition to the murder charge, Sanders faces one count of violating a bond or protective order, two counts of continuing domestic violence and three counts of burglary with intent to commit another crime stemming from separate incidents, according to the jail log and court documents.

Sanders remained in custody Monday on a total bond of $204,000. An attorney appointed for Sanders did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The report number listed with Sanders' arrest matches the case number linked to the medical examiner's report for 21-year-old Kyron Sanders. Police confirmed the two men were brothers.

Kyron Sanders was shot and killed May 6 at an apartment complex.

Officers responded shortly after midnight to Tides at 5400 Apartments in the 5400 block of Boca Raton Boulevard, near Woodhaven Boulevard, after receiving 911 calls reporting shots fired, police previously said.

Kyron Sanders was found shot to death in an apartment and taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police wrote in a preliminary report that several gunshots were heard after a man yelled that he had a gun and threatened to shoot.

Investigators determined that Kyron Sanders and several other people were involved in an altercation before the shooting.

No further details, including whether further arrests are expected, were immediately available.
