Man, 19, arrested in fatal shooting in Santa Ana – Orange County Register

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting another man in Santa Ana last week, authorities said.

On June 3, around 6:45 p.m., Angel Junior Vuelvas, 19, was found lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds by officers responding to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of South Poplar Street, the Santa Ana Police Department said. said.

Vuelvas, a Santa Ana resident, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, Gabriel Gutierrez, also of Santa Ana, fled before police arrived and was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder, police said Tuesday.

A motive for the shooting was not released by authorities Tuesday, although authorities previously said the shooting was possibly gang-related.
