Maine Silver Alert Issued for Missing 90-Year-Old Woman, Red SUV

Police have issued a Silver Alert for a 90-year-old Windham woman who disappeared after leaving her home in her red SUV.

Silver Alert Subject Suffers from Cognitive Problems

Joan Munroe, 90, of Windham suffers from cognitive issues, so officials are concerned about her well-being.

Ms. Munroe told her family she was heading to Connecticut in her escape from the red Ford

Windham police said Munroe was last seen on Thursday, June 20, 2024 around 5 p.m. at her home on Brand Road in Windham. Ms. Munroe had contacted a relative to say she was going to Connecticut, but gave no further explanation. She also didn't bring any clothes for her trip. Authorities say she drives a red 2014 Ford Escape with Maine license plate 69230.

Authorities say she is a white female, 5 feet tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She does not have a cell phone and it is unclear what she was wearing when she left.
