Macedonian woman arrested for DWI after Walworth crash

Deputies made a criminal arrest after a crash in Wayne County over the weekend.

Aubrey Stapleton, 35, of Macedonia, was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office after a crash on Mildahn Road. Deputies charged her with DWI and unsafe lane changing.

Stapleton was driving east when she failed to navigate a curve, hitting a culvert and a utility pole. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and failed field sobriety tests. Assistance was provided by the Macedonia Police Department, West Walworth Fire Department and Western Wayne Ambulance.

After being released from the hospital, Stapleton refused to submit to a chemical test and was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. She is scheduled to appear in Walworth Town Court for further proceedings.
