Lynchburg man in custody after violating protection order, stabbing woman

Lynchburg police officers responded to a burglary call overnight that left a woman with a stab wound.

According to Lynchburg Policeofficers arrived to the 1300 block of Fort Manor Drive and found a man actively attacking a female victim with a knife.

The male, Shaquielle O'Neil Booker, 30, from Lynchburgsurrendered his weapon and was taken into custody.

The victim was treated by Lynchburg Fire Department personnel. She is currently in stable condition and receiving appropriate medical care. His name has not been released.

Booker was accused of:

  • Malicious injury
  • Breaking and entering
  • Violation of a protection order
  • Committing assault and battery on a person protected by a protection order

He is currently detained in Lynchburg Blue Ridge Regional Jail without deposit.
