Lunenburg man charged with December stabbing

LUNENBURG, MA — Orlando Garcia Rosado, 57, was indicted by a Worcester County grand jury for the murder of Maria Murray, 53, in their Lunenburg home last December, Worcester County Prosecutor Joseph D. Early, Jr.

The indictment stems from an incident that occurred on December 26, 2023, when Lunenburg police responded to a residence at 1790 Massachusetts Avenue around 8:45 p.m. Officers found Murray with multiple stab wounds; she was transported to Leominster Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Rosado was quickly arrested and charged with murder, assault and battery of a family/household member. Following his appearance in Fitchburg District Court on December 27, he was held without bail.

With the indictment, Rosado's case will be moved to Worcester Superior Court for arraignment at a later date. The investigation and prosecution are ongoing, led by the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.

    CHARLESTOWN, MD — Deputy State Fire Marshals and K9 Blondie are currently investigating a two-alarm house fire that broke out in Cecil County this afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. at 125 Conestoga Street, prompting a response from the Charlestown Fire Company, Station 5, as well as support from surrounding departments, including the Susquehanna Hose Company.

    Due to high winds, the fire quickly intensified and spread throughout the home, leading to the decision to increase the response to two alarms. Fortunately, no injuries were reported following the fire.

    The origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

    BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, PA—The Bethlehem Township Police Department is asking for the community's help in locating the family of a lost dog found last night around 10 p.m. The male dog was discovered without a collar or readable microchip, wandering near the intersection of Farmersville Road. and Tusketee Rd., near Notre Dame High School.

    Residents who recognize the dog or have information about its owners are encouraged to contact the Bethlehem Township Police Department at their non-emergency number, 610-759-2200. Police are urging anyone who may know the dog's family to call or go to the police station to help reunite the dog with its family.

    Described as 5'4″ and weighing approximately 120 pounds, Aiyanna was last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie with a Pulp Fiction logo on the back, khaki shorts, and black slippers.

  • Cargo ship that struck and collapsed Maryland bridge finally leaves Baltimore en route to Virginia

    BALTIMORE, MD— On Monday, the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Sailfish, an 87-foot Marine Protector-class vessel, began escorting the motor vessel Dali as it transited from the Port of Baltimore to the Port of Virginia. The Dali, a cargo ship, was accompanied by four tugboats and a designated safety zone established by the Coast Guard.

    The trip marks a milestone nearly three months after the Dali experienced a power outage and collided with a support column of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing the bridge to collapse. The incident has since required significant recovery and security measures.

    The Dali left Baltimore just before 8:30 a.m., sailing under its own power. It carried a full complement of 22 crew members as well as six salvage experts to ensure a safe transit.

    Man Arrested in Atlantic City, New Jersey for Illegal Weapon Possession After Car Crash Fight

    ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Violence and bizarre behavior continued last week on the Jersey Shore after a beach

    A man was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm following an altercation on the beach in Atlantic City. The incident, which included an accident and a large fight, occurred last Thursday at 9:13 p.m. on the beach on New York Avenue.

    In response to reports of a fight involving multiple individuals, Atlantic City Patrol Officers encountered Joseph Miller, who was actively involved in the altercation. During the conflict, a woman commandeered Miller's vehicle and then crashed it into a light pole and fire hydrant before fleeing the scene with several unidentified individuals.

    After the altercation, Miller retrieved a rifle from the trunk of his vehicle. Officers found the rifle and arrested Miller on several firearms-related charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

    Joseph Miller, a 19-year-old resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was remanded into the Atlantic County Judicial Facility.

    The individuals who fled the scene were not apprehended.
