Lubbock teen arrested in connection with Friday crash, 64-year-old woman injured | KLBK | KAMC

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department said Saul Hernandez, 19, was arrested on a charge of intoxication assault following a crash in East Lubbock that seriously injured a 64-year-old woman.

EverythingLubbock.com reported that officers were called to the intersection of Idalou Road and MLK Boulevard just after 11:30 p.m.

(LUBBOCK, TX) – The Lubbock Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Unit is
investigating a collision in East Lubbock that left a woman seriously injured.

Officers responded to a report of a collision with injuries at the intersection of Martin Luther Street.
King, Jr. Boulevard and Idalou Highway at 11:32 p.m. on June 14.

It appears that during the initial investigation, Saul Hernandez, 19, was
traveling west in a pickup truck in the 1700 block of Idalou Highway. Teodora Castro, 64, was
travel east in the 1500 block of East 19th Street before turning north on Martin Luther
King, Jr. Boulevard. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Boulevard and Idalou highway.

Castro was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Hernández was not injured. He was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center and
charged with drunken assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
