Louisville man arrested for gun, drug possession

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man was arrested Monday on gun and drug charges, according to a message from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said that during a traffic stop as part of a narcotics investigation around 3:45 p.m. near Joe Prather Highway and Vineland Park Place in Vine Grove, Michael Hardy of Louisville was arrested on an active warrant out of Pulaski County, Kentucky.

Police and detectives searched Hardy's car and found what appeared to be 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine and pills, the publication said.

Shortly after the arrest, Hardin County detectives and Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at a Louisville apartment and discovered several long guns, handguns, more than a pound of methamphetamine, more than $44,000, numerous hydrocodone pills, suspected fentanyl pills and other identified controlled substance pills. Authorities said marijuana, cocaine and other drug paraphernalia were also seized from the apartment.

Hardy is now incarcerated at the Hardin County Detention Center.

The search warrant results uncovered several long guns, handguns, over a pound of methamphetamine, over $44,000 in U.S. currency, a large quantity of hydrocodone pills, suspected fentanyl pills, and other identified controlled substance pills.(Hardin County Sheriff)
