Los Alamos Police Department arrests four people during early morning drug bust – Los Alamos Reporter

The Los Alamos Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit arrested four people Tuesday morning during an LAPD drug operation called Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD).

The operation began around 7 a.m. and was the result of four months of work by the department's judicial police.

Cmdr. Daniel Roberts confirmed the operation was successful and there were no injuries during the arrest of the suspects at several local residences. Roberts said investigators recovered drugs and drug paraphernalia, and future arrests were likely as the investigation continued.

The arrests include:

A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of criminal solicitation, namely aggravated battery, and one count of conspiracy to commit trafficking.

Isaiah Jones, 18, charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled substance.

“This investigation is ongoing and is part of the LAPD’s efforts to keep illegal drugs out of our community and away from our Los Alamos County youth,” Roberts said. “Operation LEAD had many moving parts. This was a team effort, where patrol, school resource officers, detention, dispatch and investigations came together; I am very proud of our employees and their continued commitment to our community.

Criminal Investigation Unit Supervisor, Sgt. Ryan Wolking would like to remind the community to report suspected drug activity and stay informed about the dangers of fentanyl and other illicit drugs.
