Local restaurateur sentenced following plea deal in sex abuse case | News, Sports, Jobs

BRIGHAM CITY — A Roy man and restaurant owner accused by multiple female employees of sexual abuse will serve time in Box Elder County following his June 10 sentencing.

Dustin Brent Rallison — owner of The Rusted Spoon restaurants in Ogden and Perry — pleaded guilty to charges of forcible sexual abuse and aggravated assault, both third-degree felonies, according to an April plea agreement.

As a result, Rallison was sentenced to 200 days in the Box Elder County Jail, after which he will be subject to four years of probation, according to sentencing documents from 1st District Court in Brigham City. He was also fined $653.

The 38-year-old must also spend 10 years on the Utah state sex offender registry, according to a memo added to his plea modification documents. Additionally, the court granted a request for continuing protective orders for two victims, according to sentencing documents.

The plea modification documents said Rallison “touched one victim's breasts under clothing without her permission” and “put his arm around another victim's neck, making it difficult to breathe.”

The victims spoke during the sentencing hearing.

Rallison was initially charged with one count of object rape, a first-degree felony; three counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony; three counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony; and four counts of sexual assault, a class A misdemeanor, in 2019.

He pleaded not guilty to those charges after a preliminary hearing that same year and most were later dismissed.
