About Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes – Georgia Sheriffs Boys Ranch

Located in Hahira, Lowndes County, Boys Ranch was Georgia's first sheriff's youth center. With over four hundred acres of beautiful woods and fields, Boys Ranch is a peaceful and welcoming setting for our residents. Boys Ranch serves boys and girls and offers a chapel, study areas, a cafeteria, two ponds, a swimming pool and pool house, and four cottages. In this beautiful and welcoming environment, our young people have plenty of space to explore, learn and develop.

Boys Ranch has a long-standing partnership with local residents who participate in campus events, volunteer their services, and celebrate the holidays with the boys and girls. In fact, many campus alumni love the area so much that they choose to settle in Hahira after graduating. This supportive community commitment is an important reason for the success of Boys Ranch residents over the decades.

Many children from the Ranch continued their education in a university setting. A number of former residents have settled in and around the Hahira community. They have become devoted parents and are part of the business world.
