The community is returning to its new normal after three men were injured in a shooting just days ago at Haughville Park.

“Everything is fine. We want to pray for the families and the victims,” Timothy Williams Sr. said.

Some church members were in the park the Saturday before the shooting, doing what they do every week: cleaning the park, singing and praying with community members, walking around the surrounding neighborhoods and speaking with locals. residents.

This Saturday was no different.

“We really need to target men because that's where your crime and your drugs are, and a lot of us have been there. A lot of times I say when I speak, I say don't watch the trial because “Behind this trial is a story,” Harris said.

Their goal is to change people's lives and hearts.

“We're just looking for that person who is willing to say, look, I've tried everything else in life. Let me try Jesus,” Harris said.

They said they were not discouraged by Tuesday's shootings, quite the contrary.

“It's just our job to come here to quell crime. Stop it if we can, but what if we can't? Just keep praying. We love our neighborhood,” Harris said.

They plan to be back at the park next week.
