Livermore man banned from owning firearms arrested on numerous weapons-related charges

(KRON) — A 31-year-old man who was subject to a gun violence restraining order was arrested last week on a number of charges related to illegal weapons possession, the Livermore Police Department announced Tuesday.

On June 25, shortly after 5 p.m., Livermore police officers stopped a Kia Sportage on Las Positas Road near First Street for a traffic violation. The driver, later identified as Bradley Grassechi, 31, had a suspended vehicle registration due to lack of insurance, LPD said.

Police learned that Grassechi had an active gun violence restraining order that prohibited him from possessing firearms and other weapons. During a search of the Kia, an unregistered loaded pistol was found, Livermore police said.

A search warrant was obtained at his home, where officers found an unserialized short-barreled shotgun and ammunition, police said.
