NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) — Independence Day celebrations take place throughout North Carolina and the Triangle.

Here's a list of events and ways to celebrate the 4th of July in your area.

RALEIGH

For the third year in a row, the City of Raleigh and ABC11 are teaming up to present the 4th of July Fireworks in Raleigh!

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. The event will include a food truck area with 40 or more trucks.

There will be no parking on the Dix Park campus on July 4. Free parking for the event is available in downtown parking lots and on the NC State Centennial campus.

Free shuttles will pick up participants at Moore Square Park, starting at 5:30 p.m. They will then drop off runners at Centennial Parkway/Blair Drive, a 0.2 mile (5 min) walk from the event.

But don't worry if you can't make it to the park in person, ABC11 will be streaming the entire show live starting at 9 p.m.

DURHAM

Durham Parks and Recreation and the Durham Bulls celebrate with a post-game fireworks display on Thursday, July 4.

The Durham Bulls vs. Norfolk Tides game will kick off at 6:35 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. A fireworks display will follow the game at 9:15 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE

Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, City of Fayetteville and Fayetteville PWC to Host Independence Day Concert & Fireworks, a free event on Thursday, July 4. It will take place at Festival Park in Fayetteville.

The event will feature performances by the Fayetteville Symphonic Band, Fayetteville's only community concert band, and the 82nd Airborne Division Band.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The concerts are scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. with a fireworks display following the performances.

Cary

The Town of Cary will host its Fourth of July celebration at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. The Cary Town Band will perform at 4:30 p.m. and the North Carolina Symphony will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

The event will also include fun activities for kids, food and a live skydiving demonstration at Symphony Lake by the NC Veterans Corps.

A fireworks display will immediately follow the concert at 9:25 p.m.

CHAPEL HILL

You can watch the fireworks from South Community Park. The event parking lot opens at 7 p.m. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.

People are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.

ROLESVILLE

The City of Rolesville Fireworks Celebration will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Redford Place Park. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m.

WILSON

Gates open at 5 p.m. at the Wilson County Fairgrounds for their July 4th Fireworks Show starting at 9 p.m.

HOLLY SOURCES

Friday July 5th – Holly Springs Independence Day Celebration will be held at Sugg Farm in Bass Lake Park. Live music, food trucks, games and more will be featured.

The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. The fireworks will start around 9:15 p.m.

FORT LIBERTY

Saturday June 29 – The 2024 Fourth of July Celebration at the Fort features live music by Flo Rida, Plain White T's and Maddie and Tae. The event is free and open to the public. The parade ground opens at 3 p.m., with the 82nd Rock Band kicking off at 4:30 p.m. Maddie and Tae will take the stage at 6 p.m., Plain White T's will perform at 7:10 p.m. Flo Rida will be at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. There will also be a skydiving demonstration by the Golden Knights, a flag ceremony, food, beverages and lights in the sky from the fireworks.

SELMA

Monday July 1st – The Selma All-American Festival takes place at Blackstone/Ormond's Plaza starting at 6 p.m. The event features food trucks, games and live entertainment.

FUQUAY-VARINA

Monday July 1st – The Independence Day celebration will include live music, food trucks and fireworks.

South Park gates open at 6pm and the fireworks start around 9:15pm

WENDELL

Tuesday July 2nd 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wendell Community Park: 601 W. Third Street.

Visitors can enjoy food trucks, outdoor activities and music before the fireworks show begins at sunset. Shuttles run throughout the evening starting at 6:30 p.m. for visitors who want to visit the park after dining or drinking on Main Street in downtown. Wendell Community Park allows up to 500 people for on-site vehicle parking. Golf carts and handicapped parking are available.

Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and outdoor activities for families to enjoy.

City leaders are asking visitors to refrain from bringing pets and personal fireworks so the event can be safe for everyone to enjoy.

MORRISVILLE

Wednesday July 3 – The City of Morrisville is hosting its “Red, White and BOOM!” event

The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cedar Fork District Park at 228 Aviation Parkway.

The party will feature live music from Adam Lee Decker and Sayer McShane, food trucks, family-friendly carnival games and inflatables. Tickets for the carnival games are $1 per ticket.

Traffic Alert: Aviation Parkway will be closed from 9:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.

WAKE FOREST

Wednesday July 3 – The 2024 Fireworks Show. The event is free and open to the public and will take place at Heritage High School, 1150 Forestville Road.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the fireworks will begin around 9:30 p.m.

COLLECT

Wednesday July 3 – Garner's Independence Day celebration includes food vendors, tours, music and of course fireworks.

Benson Lake Park gates open at 5 p.m. On-site parking is free and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
