Lisa Gadberry, Former Economic Director of Somerset, KY, Sentenced in $142,000 Fraud Scheme

SOMERSET, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 51-year-old Somerset woman was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to wire fraud in February.

Lisa Gadberry, former director of the now-disbanded Somerset-Pulaski Economic Development Foundation (SPCDF), pleaded guilty to wire fraud on February 12. According to court documents, she was sentenced to 10 months in prison for misusing $142,874.69 over five years. .


According to the Department of Justice, Gadberry was employed as secretary and office manager of the SPCDF from November 5, 2012 to May 15, 2019.

Gadberry's plea agreement states that she admitted to using a SPCDF credit card for personal expenses, including vacations, shopping, gasoline, electric bills, cell phones, restaurants and entertainment. Gadberry allegedly hid these expenses by paying the bill with a Pulaski Fiscal Court account that was not monitored.

Court documents show that after her time in prison, she will not be allowed to incur new credit card charges or open new lines of credit without promotion from a probation officer, and she will not be allowed to occupy a job where she is authorized. to use a credit card or company bank accounts without the approval of his probation officer.

The Somerset-Pulaski Economic Development Authority has now replaced the Somerset-Pulaski Economic Development Foundation.
