Lincoln woman and two other victims identified as York crash victims

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three people were killed and three others injured Friday evening in a crash in York.

An SUV stopped in front of a tractor-trailer at the junction of Highways 81 and 34 around 8:30 p.m., according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

Three people in the SUV – Randall Wheeler, 62, and Janniee Wheeler, 69, both of York, and Rita Beins, 70, of Lincoln – were pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

Authorities said a fourth person in the SUV and two people in the tractor-trailer were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The area was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.

The accident is still under investigation.
