LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The man who fled the Lincoln Regional Center Tuesday morning has been arrested after leading authorities on a chase after a coal train.

On Thursday morning, the Butler County Sheriff's Office said it believed Justin Daro, 47, was at a home in Ulysses, Nebraska, 17 miles north of Seward.

Deputies said Daro left the home 10 minutes later as they tried to make contact with him, authorities said.

Authorities said deputies pursued Daro's car as he fled toward Seward County.

Daro's car broke down near a railroad crossing just west of Tamora, south of Highway 34, deputies said.

Deputies said Daro climbed onto a stopped train and began running over cars filled with coal.

The Nebraska State Patrol deployed a K-9 to the train, but Daro jumped over the tracks to another stationary train, authorities said.

Officers said they shot Daro with a bean bag round, forcing the suspect to stop.

Authorities said Daro continued to resist arrest but was eventually taken into custody atop the coal train.

Daro was medically admitted to Seward Hospital and then booked into the Lancaster County Jail.

Authorities said charges were still pending.
