Lexington man sentenced after nearly 140 grams of fentanyl seized in two raids

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man was sentenced Monday to nearly 17 years in prison for multiple armed drug trafficking convictions.

According to the Department of Justice, Kentucky State Police discovered that Chris Williams, 29, was distributing a large quantity of fentanyl. During a month-long investigation, police said he purchased approximately 74 grams of fentanyl in August 2022.


Investigators said they seized a loaded firearm, approximately 76 grams of fentanyl and approximately 20 grams of fentanyl-like pills from Williams' home. During the search, Williams told authorities he used the gun to facilitate his drug trafficking.

In August 2023, detectives with the Lexington Police Department said they learned that Williams was distributing narcotics again. After a second investigation, detectives said they found approximately 60 grams of fentanyl and two firearms at Williams’ home.

He was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute 10 grams or more of a fentanyl analogue, distribution of fentanyl and two counts of possession of a firearm for the purpose of drug trafficking.
