Level 3 Massachusetts sex offender convicted after molesting two minors while posing as electrical company employee – Fall River Reporter

Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois announced that a 36-year-old Massachusetts man pleaded guilty Thursday in Barnstable Superior Court for his role.
relating to attacks on two minor victims.

Jonathan Fleischmann of Yarmouth pleaded guilty to a total of six counts: home invasion, armed kidnapping, assault with a firearm in a dwelling, assault to the extent of rape, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery blows and wounds.

On February 6, 2020 or at approximately 2:20 p.m., Victim 1 was walking home from school with her boyfriend in Yarmouth. Victim 1 arrived home to a man later identified as Fleischmann, who claimed to be from the power company and was there to let her know that the power was going to be cut off to her house. When the accused walked away from her, Victim 1 opened her garage door and went inside. As she turned around, Fleischmann, now wearing a ski mask on his head, entered the garage behind her and pulled out a gun. Fleischmann told Victim 1 to go into the house. Victim 1 attempted to run out of the garage, but Fleischmann grabbed her arm. Victim 2 heard Victim 1 screaming and ran towards the garage.
After seeing Victim 2 running toward them, Fleischmann let go of Victim 1, ran down the alley, and out into the street. Victim 2 chased Fleischmann and while running, he pointed the gun in the air at Victim 2, causing Victim 2 to stop his pursuit for fear of being shot.

Yarmouth police were called and responded to the scene. During a video search, police located a camera on a home near Victim 1's home. While viewing the video, officers observed a man matching Victim 1's description running down the street. Victim 1 identified Fleischmann in a photo lineup on March 10, 2020.

Fleischmann was sentenced in Barnstable Superior Court to 12 to 15 years in state prison.
The charges stem from an investigation led by Detective Eric Nuss of the Yarmouth Police Department.

Fleishmann is a Level 3 sex offender due to prior convictions in Barnstable District Court for indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 in 2006 and open and gross lewdness in 2017.

In June, according to the Massachusetts Department of Justice, Fleischmann was charged after his colleagues reported to law enforcement that between March 17 and 18, 2023, Fleischmann's cell phone was allegedly observed downloading media files suspected of child pornography while his phone was left. open and charging on a counter at their workplace. A subsequent search of Fleischmann's cell phone allegedly identified approximately 255 image files and 55 video files containing suspected child pornography.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Courtney Scalice, Vulnerable Victim Abuse Chief and Victim Witness Assistant Kimberly Pierce.
