Level 3 evacuations (go now!) in place for 85-acre wildfire near Geiger Heights | Spokane News

SPOKANE, Wash. — An 85-acre fire has prompted Level 3 (go there now!) for many people living near Geiger Heights.

The Grove Fire is now 85 acres and 100 structures are threatened. Anyone in the following areas is in immediate danger and must leave now!

  • West Hallett Road to the north
  • Drosett Road to the east
  • Abbott Lane to the west
  • Morning Lane to the south
  • North 57th Avenue to the north

The Grove Fire was originally a half-acre near 7800 South Grove Road and continues to grow. The fire is currently estimated at 85 acres.

The northbound lanes of Cheney-Spokane Highway will be reopened for evacuation traffic.

The Spokane Valley Fire Department was called to help fight this fire.

The cause of this fire is unknown and no injuries have been reported at this time.
