Level 3 evacuations (go now!) for 1,700-acre Pioneer wildfire near Lake Chelan

CHELAN, Wash. — Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuations have been extended to the lake due to the Pioneer Fire.

Residents north of Moore Point, south of Canoe Creek, are under Level 3 (Go Now!) and should leave immediately, according to Chelan County Emergency Management.

The fire has burned more than 1,700 acres and crews continue to battle the fire.

Chelan County Emergency Management has issued the following evacuation orders:

Level 3: Just north of Moore Point, south of Canoe Creek. Level 3 (in red) means leave the area immediately. Level 2 (downstream of the lake): Canoe Creek to Lone Fir Creek. Level 2 (yellow) means prepare now in case you need to evacuate the area in an emergency.

Level 1 (downstream of the lake): Lone Fir Creek to Safety Harbor. Level 1 (green) means remaining vigilant and monitoring the fire in the area.

Level 2 (upstream of the lake): Just north of Moore Point to and including Flick Creek Campground. Level 2 (yellow) means prepare now in case you need to evacuate the area in an emergency.

Level 1 (upstream of the lake): Flick Creek Campground up to and including Fourmile Creek Campground Area. Level 1 (green) means remaining vigilant and monitoring the fire in the area.

Level 3 evacuations (go now!) for the 1,172-acre Pioneer Wildfire near the Rex Creek area remain in effect.

The fire broke out on June 8, initially covering 10 to 15 acres and growing to 300 acres by the weekend. Firefighters continue to battle the fire and evacuation orders are still in effect for the Rex Creek area. No structures are threatened by the fire.

Level 3 evacuation status indicates immediate danger, requiring residents or hikers in the area to leave without delay. The Department of Natural Resources (MNR) advises following evacuation plans, even if the danger is not immediately apparent.

According to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), they are battling a wildfire about 31 miles northwest of Chelan along the eastern shore of the lake. The fire is at least 300 acres and was reported on June 8, initially measuring 10 to 15 acres. The DNR reports the deployment of air and ground crews actively engaged in firefighting efforts.
