Las Vegas teen accused in fatal shooting faces additional hit-and-run charges

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A teenager already charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old is also charged in an unrelated hit-and-run that left a man seriously injured.

On Wednesday, June 26, at approximately 2:30 a.m., police responded to a hit-and-run at the intersection of North Pecos and East Bonanza roads.

Police said a 2017 Kia Sol was traveling south on Pecos Road toward the Bonanza intersection, where a 2017 Honda Pilot was traveling east. The Honda Pilot's light was green.

The driver of the Kia, later identified as Dior Jenkins, 18, entered the intersection through a red light and crossed into the path of the Honda, causing the Honda to strike the Kia, which spun around. Debris from the Kia struck a Nissan Altima that was stopped at the red light.

A passenger in the Kia was ejected from the vehicle and was later found on the roadway. The driver and other passengers in the Kia left the scene after the crash.

The charges against Jenkins indicate the Kia was stolen.

Medical personnel transported the ejected passenger, a 19-year-old man, in critical condition to a local hospital. The driver of the Honda was also transported with injuries but was released from the hospital.

Police arrested Jenkins on murder charges the same day as the hit-and-run crash, which appears to be unrelated.

Jenkins, along with Robert Saulsberry, 17, and an unnamed 14-year-old, are charged with open murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit murder.

The three teens are accused of fatally shooting Jovan Wright Bullock, 16, outside his home in the 2300 block of Goldhill Way, near Vegas Drive and MLK Boulevard in May, police said.

Witnesses told police the shooting was related to a dispute over a gun, according to police documents.

Jenkins is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, failure to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without a license during a hit-and-run.

He was being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail. His next court appearance was scheduled for July 16.
