The Clark County Coroner's Office on Tuesday identified a man who was shot and killed by Metropolitan Police on Thursday after allegedly pointing a rifle at officers at a downtown apartment complex.

Las Vegas police provided additional details Tuesday afternoon.

Police said officers opened fire after Seth Wilson, 49, pointed his long gun in the 200 block of North Ninth Street.

The Las Vegas man died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Around 1 p.m., officers responded to a call about an armed person threatening to kill someone, police said.

Wilson was asked to drop the gun before pointing it at the officers, police said. Officers Matthew Kravetz, 35, and Andrew Buckland, 39, fired their weapons, according to police.

It was not immediately clear whether Wilson pulled the trigger, but police said no officers were injured.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
