Las Vegas police arrest suspect in deadly East Valley shooting

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting Monday morning in the East Valley.

At approximately 5:28 a.m. yesterday, LVMPD Dispatch received a report that a person had been shot in the 2000 block of Peyton Drive. Patrol officers arrived and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a home.

Medical personnel were called and pronounced the victim dead on site. Patrol officers located a vehicle associated with the call and arrested a male occupant, later identified as 25-year-old Isaiah Branch.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation and learned that the victim and Branch had gotten into an argument, leading Branch to produce a handgun and shoot the victim. Police said he then fled the house.

Branch was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of open murder involving a deadly weapon. Identification of the deceased, as well as cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
