LAPD releases sketch of man who allegedly tried to rape woman in Canoga Park

Los Angeles Police Department detectives have released a sketch of the man accused of attempting to rape a woman in Canoga Park.

The alleged assault happened on June 23 at 10:30 p.m. near Roscoe Boulevard and Owensmouth Avenue. The suspect appeared to follow a 24-year-old woman for about a half-block, according to security camera footage released by investigators. Detectives said the man attempted to sexually assault the victim before running east on Roscoe Boulevard.

Police believe the suspect is between 25 and 30 years old, weighs about 200 pounds and is about 6 feet tall. Detectives also said he has black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red shirt, an orange and blue long-sleeved flannel shirt and dark blue pants.
