Lancaster man sentenced in Park City Mall shooting

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Lancaster City man was sentenced Tuesday afternoon after pleading guilty to injuring multiple people during the October 2021 shooting at Park City Mall.

Jeremiahs Sanchez, now 19, was sentenced to 16 to 32 years in prison following a 2021 shooting at Park City Mall that left three people dead, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office. bullet and a fourth seriously injured.

During this incident, 52 people, including young children, were near the scene of the shooting.

The Lancaster District Attorney's Office says Sanchez was ultimately arrested by an innocent bystander who legally possessed a gun. The bystander shot Sanchez three times to defend himself and others; the passerby then disarmed Sanchez.

The bystander was cleared of any criminal charges by Lancaster County Prosecutor Heather Adams.

Sanchez pleaded guilty in February 2024 to four counts of aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and 52 counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Former Lancaster City Police Bureau Detective, now Lancaster County Detective, Stanley Roache filed the charges and attended the sentencing proceeding.
