Kory McCrimmon: Boy, 13, appears in court charged with murder of teenager in Glasgow | UK News

A 13-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of another teenager in Glasgow.

Kory McCrimmon, 16, was seriously injured during a disturbance at Greenfield Park in Eskbank Street at around 8.15pm on Friday.

The emergency services intervened and Kory, from Glasgowwas taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he died on Sunday afternoon.

Police Scotland arrested and charged a 13-year-old boy in connection with the death.

The suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, made no plea to the single murder charge when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

The boy, from the town, has been remanded in custody and is expected to return to the dock within the next eight days.

Detective Inspector William Downie, senior investigating officer, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Kory's family at this very difficult time. They have asked for their privacy.

“Our investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances and there will be a continued police presence in the area.

“Additional patrols are underway and anyone with concerns should speak to an officer.

“There were a lot of people in the park at the time and we are asking anyone who has not yet spoken to officers to contact us.”
