Kibbutz doctor missing since October 7 confirmed dead and remains identified – www.israelhayom.com

The body of Dolev Yehud, a 35-year-old doctor from Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel, was found after he was kidnapped in a terrorist attack on October 7, Israeli authorities confirmed Monday. Yehud had left his home that day to provide medical assistance to those injured in the attack when he was kidnapped. His sister, Arbel Yahuda, remains in captivity.

Yehud is survived by his wife Sigal and four young children: his daughters Raz, 8 years old, Yotam, 7 years old, Yaron, 4 years old, and Dor, aged only eight months. In a cruel twist of fate, baby Dor was born just 16 days after the October 7 attack, without ever having the chance to meet his father.

“When Dolev was kidnapped, he was the father of three extraordinary children: Raz, Yotam and Ron,” his wife said. “He was by my side during all three births, holding my hand, supporting me, cutting the umbilical cords and helping me choose their names.”

For weeks after the October 7 attack on Nir Oz, there was no sign of Yehud in Gaza. Efforts were made to determine whether he had been taken to Gaza or was being held captive somewhere in Israeli territory. In recent weeks, suspicions have grown that he was killed in Israel.

His body was eventually found near the kibbutz and transferred to another location. Forensic evidence was examined several times, but failed to extract DNA. However, after repeated investigations and further analysis, it became clear that the remains found were those of Yehud.

“On October 16, just nine days after Dolev was kidnapped, our fourth child, Dor, was born. But Dolev was not there,” Ms. Yahuda said. “I was alone, torn, body separated from soul. I wish he could come back now to heal me. I love him most in the world.”

The grim discovery devastated the Yehud family, who hoped Dolev was still alive after nearly eight months without any news of his fate or condition.
