Kate Middleton shares letter to apologize for missing The Color pre-trooping event

On Saturday, Kate Middleton's letter to the Irish Guards was shared in a post on X, formerly Twitter, in which she apologized for missing a big rehearsal of Trooping the Color. The event serves as a birthday parade for King Charles and the Princess of Wales traditionally plays the role of honorary colonel of the Irish Guards, who are leading the event this year. It was her duty to “receive the salute” as the colonel's review, but due to ongoing cancer treatment, she was unable to attend.

In her message, Kate wrote: “How proud I am of the whole regiment ahead of the Colonel's Review and Color Parade. »

“I appreciate that everyone participating this year has been training for months and putting in many hours to ensure their uniforms and drills are impeccable,” she continued. “Being your Colonel remains a great honor and I am truly sorry that I will not be able to receive the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review. Please pass on my apologies to the entire regiment, but I hope to be able to represent you again very soon. Please send best wishes and good luck to everyone involved.

The princess signed with “Quis Separabit” and “Colonel Catherine”.

The Irish Guards thanked her for her letter in their tweet, writing: “The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter this morning from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales. We continue to wish Her Royal Highness a speedy recovery and send her our best wishes. Quis Separabit @KensingtonRoyal @ArmyInLondon.'

Last year, Prince William held the same role when the Welsh Guards regiment led the parade, as he is their honorary colonel. This year, Lieutenant General James Bucknall replaced Kate. He is a former commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps.
