Kanye West's battery investigation following alleged punching incident on ice

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ…the rapper and the twin brothers Brand And Johnny Houston I kept silent because of my statements I put the wrong twin in the face at Château Marmont after thinking one of them had attacked his wife Bianca Censori in April.

Even if Kanye's camp claimed Bianca had been assaulted …police officers said they saw no evidence of an assault when they viewed the surveillance footage. Best they could imagine, it was just one of the twins who had accidentally bumped into Bianca.

We're told the cops need brothers Mark, Jonnie and/or Kanye to cooperate with the investigation – but all three have flat out ignored all their requests to talk.

We're told officials believe Ye and the twins may have worked out their differences privately…and that's likely why there have been crickets on both sides. We're told there just isn't enough juice for the cops to send the case to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office.
