Kano Deputy Governor Apologizes to NSA Ribadu, Returns to Allegations He Facilitated Return of Dethroned Emir

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, Deputy Governor of Kano State, has tendered an unreserved apology to the National Security Advisor (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for a statement he made alleging that he was at the origin of the current situation in Kano.

The Deputy Governor apologized during a press conference early Monday morning at Government House, Kano.

The Kano deputy governor had claimed that the NSA facilitated the return of the dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, by providing him with two private jets and providing him with security services.

Although Ribadu has since denied the allegations, he also threatened to sue him if he does not retract his allegations.

In a letter to Deputy Governor Aliyu & Musa Chambers, Ribadu's lawyers, the NSA demanded an apology from the Deputy Governor which must be delivered within 24 hours.

The NSA lawyer also wanted the deputy governor to issue a public apology in five national dailies with wide national coverage and popular online platforms because failure to do so would result in Ribadu being forced to seek redress in court.

However, Gwarzo unequivocally admitted that the government was misled in making the allegation saying: “We apologize to the National Security Advisor, his person and his office for any embarrassment and inconvenience this may have caused. talk to him.”

He said they were shocked from the start when his name was mentioned in the plot to impose a deposed emir in Kano.

He said knowing his pedigree and integrity, Nuhu Ribadu would never come and deny it, if he is really involved. “We are human and can make mistakes at any time. On behalf of myself and the Governor of Kano State, I wish to assure the NSA of our continued support and cooperation in the discharge of its duties as the NSA.

“We were really concerned and shocked when we discovered that he was not behind the plan to forcefully impose a deposed emir in Kano, so we apologize for that,” he added. .

The deputy governor finally called on President Bola Tinubu to thoroughly investigate what is happening in Kano to ensure that peace reigns.
