Juvenile with warrant arrested on multiple gun-related charges in Santa Rosa

(KRON) – A juvenile and an adult were arrested at a park after police witnessed gun activity, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Officers from the Santa Rosa Special Enforcement Team (SET) patrolled Andy's Unity Park around 5:03 p.m. Saturday. Officers located several subjects standing near a vehicle parked on the northwest side of the park. Police said they saw one of the subjects remove a concealed firearm from his waistband and place it in the car.

Officers located a loaded Poly-80 handgun with an extended 33-round magazine after arresting the individuals. Police say the firearm was loaded with one 9mm round in the chamber and 29 additional 9mm rounds in the magazine. The suspect carrying the gun turned out to be a juvenile, Santa Rosa police said.

The minor was arrested and incarcerated in juvenile hall. The minor was charged with carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, carrying a concealed weapon, minor in possession of ammunition, minor in possession of a concealed handgun and minor in possession of a concealed handgun. The teen was also the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from Mendocino County.

One of the suspects was identified as Santa Rosa resident Eligio Reynoso-Hernandez. Police said Reynoso-Hernandez was carrying a knife, which violated his probation. He was then arrested and booked into Sonoma County's main adult detention center.
