Juvenile stabbing suspect in Hayward with weapons cache arrested

(KRON) — Police arrested a juvenile in Hayward on Friday in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred last month, the Hayward Police Department said.

During a preliminary investigation, officers learned the juvenile may have been in possession of multiple firearms and high-capacity magazines because he brandished a weapon during the stabbing, police said.

Police executed a search warrant at the minor's home. The juvenile was not home at the time of the search, but police said they recovered “two stolen rifles, a sawed-off shotgun, as well as several weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

The minor, according to police, was found shortly after at another address and taken into custody without incident.

“Please talk to your children about gun safety and encourage them to tell an adult if they know a friend, classmate or associate has guns in their possession” , Hayward PD said in a statement.
