Juvenile in custody as part of investigation into shooting | News, Sports, Jobs

Yesterday, the Marshalltown Police Department arrested a 15-year-old male in connection with the investigation into the June 1 shooting at the Center Street Station bar.

When officers arrived at the scene of the shooting, they found Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves, 41, of Marshalltown, suffering from a gunshot wound. Nieves was transported to a medical facility where he died.

Victor Antonio Delgadillo, 18, of Marshalltown, was identified as the shooter and remains at large. Delgadillo has active warrants for his arrest for the crimes of first-degree murder and first-degree harassment. The charges remain charges and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The minor concerned is detained for accessory after the fact, which constitutes an aggravated offense; and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class D felony. The teen was transported to a juvenile detention center.

“We will arrest and prosecute anyone who knowingly aids and abets Mr. Delgadillo,” said Chief Mike Tupper. “We cannot allow violent crime to take over our community. We expect to make more arrests. We urge Mr. Delgadillo to follow his lawyer's advice and turn himself in. The only way to resolve this issue is to do so through legal proceedings.

The Marshalltown Police Department has received information from the public that Delgadillo is receiving help from people and that this help allowed him to evade law enforcement.

“We’re going to find Mr. Delgadillo,” Tupper said. “The Police Department appreciates the support and information that the public continues to provide. We will not rest until this case has been fully adjudicated. »

Marshall County Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to Delgadillo's arrest.

“Marshall County Crime Stoppers is a critically important partner in public safety,” Tupper said. “We appreciate their generous support in this case and many others over the past nine years. This murder investigation is our number one priority. We will not rest until Mr. Delgadillo is safely arrested.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the U.S. Marshal Service and the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office are assisting in this investigation. The Marshalltown Police Department was assisted at the scene of the June 1 shooting by the Marshall County 911 Communications Center, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the Marshalltown Fire Department and Unity Pointy–Marshalltown EMS.
